We always do our best to meet everyone's expectations, and I’m sure we sometimes fall short. We put our heart and souls into this farm. We all work full time jobs outside of the farm, and we often make mistakes (that we hope we learn from). We are always growing and changing as we go! We have laid out an outline of some our policies and expectations as sellers. Please feel free to ask us any questions and we will do our best to get you the answers!
Thank you for supporting our little farm and hopefully enjoying our animals as much as we do!
Little Lucky Cattle Company Purchasing information
Our cattle are raised with good health and love in mind! We have a good group of calves for sale each year, and occasionally an adult cow. All of our cows are vaccinated, dewormed, kept on a good feed program, and pasture raised.
We do not purposely pull calves for bottle babies, though sometimes it does happen for the health of the mama and/or calf. Generally, we choose to raise those babies until close to weaning before selling as we want to be sure they will be healthy and strong before they are moved into new homes.
Our calves are raised in pasture with their moms, until weaning at 5-6 months of age. Calves are then fenced weaned, and we start socializing the calves, introducing them to the brush, and can introduce them to the halter.
Introducing them to the halter is not full halter training. It will get them use to having the halter on, and comfortable with the new “outfit”, full halter training can be included at an additional cost, and does require the calf to stay a little longer to learn to lead.
To hold any cow/calf a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT is required, no cow/calf is considered sold until this is received. Full payment is due before the calf leaves the property. If you are having a transport company pick up your animal you MUST have full payment to us and clear the bank before the animal can leave.
All animals will travel with a vet issued health certificate, and any animals that possibly carry the chrondo gene will be tested, any other extra testing can be provided at the expense of the buyer. We do not guarantee the health of animals once they are picked up by buyer/transporters. We welcome outside vet exams with proper notice and at the expense of the buyers.
Once an animal is purchased we require that transport be arranged. If the animal is already weaned and ready to go we require the animal to be picked up within 2 weeks of sale date, unless another date is agreed upon. Animals not yet weaned will stay with their mom until a weaning date is set, at which time we will set a time-slot with the buyer for pick up. Any animal not picked-up within that time-frame will be charged $10 a day for boarding to be paid by the buyer before animal is picked up. After 10
days the buyer forfeits the non-refundable deposit and sale will be voided.
